There are students, grad students, professors and townies. That is what the local folk are called, townies. I live in what is called in the states an apartment complex. It is where several buildings of flats are located in one area. There usually is a clubhouse, sometimes a fitness gym and sometimes a swimming pool. My complex has none of those but is next to a lovely wooded area and I am often treated with the sight of deer and other wildlife. </p> <p>The other day I went shopping for groceries and had rather a heavy load. Sitting on the front steps of my building is a rather posh looking young lady, a graduate student no doubt. Looking down her nose at the old lady approaching with her heavy grocery bags. Now, I wasn't hoping she would help but at least when I smiled at her in a neighbourly way I thought she would return the smile. Nope. It is really tough for me to say good bye to the Tenth Doctor, David Tennant has been brilliant. I went to New, New, New, New etc., York, as Rose said in New Earth so nice they had to name it twice. Well actually, I went to New York and found a nice job!! I will be taking care of elderly people in a very nice home. Not making tons of money but I will manage fine. It was that or the high stress job that offered tons of money. I chose the lower stress job. While my brother is looking for a flat for me I am now throwing away stuff and getting ready to make the trek the first week in June from the good old Midwest to New York. What an adventure.</p> <p>I hope everyone is fine. I have really missed reading blogs and posting. Wasn't able to comment on the one off Doctor Who special Planet of the Dead which was fantastic. Aunt Maggie got me a designer handbag for 3 dollars. It is a very nice purse. They didn't clean it when they sold it though so I started to clean it and found a pill in it. Ah, a purse and pill, lovely. No I did the right thing and got rid of it. David Tennant as Ten and companion played by Michelle Ryan are riding on a bus and there are some classic 1970's vehicles seen. UNIT is called in, yay UNIT is back. My question is if they are in the 1970's how do they explain that there are two Doctors with UNIT simultaneously. Jon Pertwee is dashing about with Jo Grant somewhere and the Brigadier..confusing but we will see. The pictures..I am too sleepy tonight to post a link, are on the blog Planet Gallifrey on google's blog site. </p> <p>Other clues is a crispy critter skeleton and the Doctor has some sort of gizmo scanning for some alien tech. How many times in life do you get do-overs? It seems slightly surreal that America got to hit the reset button. To bad we can't turn back time to 8 years ago. Saw the inauguration on tv and it was pretty fantastic. Even if President Obama only does 1/4 of the things he's promised we at least are in a step in the right direction. </p> <p>I love do-overs but sometimes there are things that happen in your life you just don't want to do over.
