Enjoying the time off I am. Back to work tomorrow
I am usually at work in the evenings and so I don't watch American tv. I usually watch BBCAmerica, DVD's, Internet tv or PBS and sometimes DIY tv. Last night I am channel cruising and I stumble upon a reality show called Mobile Home Disasters. It is on a country tv network. Mobile homes in the US are like caravans that you live in, hence they are called mobile homes. Well the show itself is quite funny and I like diy so the show itself wasn't bad, it was pretty entertaining. The thing that struck me though was how pretty the family was! When you think of ordinary Americans on reality shows there should be someone who is ugly with no teeth or at least some teeth missing.
On American tv, even reality American tv everyone is PERFECTLY PRETTY!!! There are no ugly or ordinary people on American tv. Even the reality show Ruby, about an obese southern American woman and her struggles to lose weight, she is beautiful. She has the most gorgeous ginger hair and a beautiful face. Is it just me or is America only allowing perfect people, even perfect ordinary people on telly!
I thought about the office where I work and the young women are stunningly gorgeous. They look like actresses. They are also spray tanned so that they are tanned all year round. Hey, there is no one who looks like me in my office or on tv in this country. Teeth are perfect, skin is tanned and not a blemish in sight. Hey, why is America obsessed with perfection? any ideas?

I love watching How clean is your house with the cockney or northern accents. It is just more endearing to see real reality instead of people who have had their teeth, hair and boobs done before they do the show. Isn't that the idea of reality tv? Someone you can relate to?
I don't know honey? On British TV when you have reality. You have bad teeth, horrible hair, bad manners, bad language and all the associated bad things that go along with it. We get REAL reality, not the cleaned up version?
