I had shrimp Alfredo for dinner and it sounds like WWII in my tummy. Uh Oh. I think I may be in for a long night.

Dead Planet-let the rumours begin
@ 2008-12-28 – 00:25:54
Next Doctor Who special at Easter is called the Dead Planet and the rumour/speculation has already begun. I have already read that it is about Galifrey, Unit and Martha. We have from now until Easter to see where this leads. If it is anything like the Next Doctor then I am pretty excited.
Today was a weird weather day. Woke up at 4:45am to the sound of wind, like the roof was coming off. It had warmed up to 68 degrees and there were severe thunderstorms, then a mere 5 hours later the temperature had dropped 35 degrees and it was freezing rain and ice. Had to go to work in that muck. Trying to walk on ice is tricky but I made it to and from work.

The Next Doctor was brilliant and treasure hunt update
@ 2008-12-27 – 02:08:42
Hi. Evening and middle of the night for some, next morning for others. Hope you had a nice boxing day. In the US it is black Friday, that is when everyone returns pressies they don't like to the stores.
Wasn't The Next Doctor brilliant? I loved it. I thought the acting was fantastic. And *clears throat* David Morrissey was brilliant and ooh wouldn't he make a good Eleventh Doctor? Without giving anything away I still can safely say we have no clue as to the identity of the Eleventh Doctor. For me this was the best Doctor Who Christmas special.
Treasure hunt update. The lock box was empty and oh well didn't find a million dollars inside. I could use a million dollars.

Night all

Tomorrow's Christmas Eve
@ 2008-12-24 – 05:31:35
All excited are we?! pressies. puddings. Almost Next Doctor Who Christmas Special time. Will David Morrissey turn out to be another version of the Doctor? What happens to the Tardis? All will be revealed and it will be fantastic.
Had freezing rain today. bleh. I almost fell I counted 5 times today. At least I didn't fall. It's worrisome being alone and thinking you might break a hip or something. Snow tomorrow. I do like that it will snow on Christmas Eve.
Nighty nite.

For those Who don't like Holidays.
@ 2008-12-23 – 05:06:33
It is really a tough time of year. All the expectations and fantasies of how things should be. I don't know myself why but I put up my Christmas tree and decorations. Sent Christmas cards, put lights on the balcony. It's just me and my cats and there are no pressies under the tree, well one nice gift of chocolates from a neighbour
My mum and dad have both passed away and I only have one relative my brother who lives on the East Coast. I must be daft but I said to myself this is in expectation of good things to come that I would decorate and enjoy myself anyway. I am just going to pretend things are good and one day they will be. I know my good friend playwright27 is feeling a little blue and I thought for those of us who are alone we are going to dream big. It's not about pressies or poppers but it's about taking the high road and living the joy in some things that are very simple. But I like lots of pressies too!! Laugh when your down and then let the tears flow. Let it all out. Feels good.
Well its time to go to my comfy bed with my fat kitties and my tubby self and read before bedtime. One day, some day it will all come together.
Have a Happy Holiday
Merry Christmas!!!
P.S. I would leave Santa cookies and milk but I am liable to eat them myself. Ho Ho ho.

More Next Doctor Who clues - spoiler alert
@ 2008-12-22 – 03:13:50
I read this on from the Mail online and I think they slipped. If you are curious about rumours read on but if you think this might be to close to the truth, don't read. The Mail online had a caption underneath the following picture that read "alter ego". I had read the speculation that the David Morrisey Doctor is a "potential" Doctor. He is the Doctor that would have been had Ten regenerated in "Journey's End" It makes sense because in the clips we have seen, the DM Doctor is imitating the Tenth Doctor. It's not a parallel universe but an alternate timeline maybe.

New Doctor Who Unknown
@ 2008-12-21 – 03:26:31
Reading all over the internet today, that the new actor to play the Doctor has actually NOT been chosen. I am using this opportunity to make a shameless plea to Russell T. Davies and Stephen Moffat to please pick David Morrissey. I know everyone is saying he can't be the next Doctor because of the way the story of The Next Doctor Christmas special is rumoured to play out but... *clears throat*
Dear Russell T. Davies, Stephen Moffat,
Please in your infinite wisdom, pick David Morrissey to be the Eleventh Doctor. He has talent and wit and is the right age to play the doctor. I know it will be difficult to follow in David Tennant's footsteps (trainers) but if my little on my knees pleading succeeds in anyway persuading you to chose DAVID MORRISSEY as the next Doctor, then my job is done. Don't be hasty you know he is the right actor for the job.Thank you

Are you smarter than a 5th grader?
@ 2008-12-20 – 03:07:02
Personally, I think US tv is really hard up when they keep broadcasting tv filler like these reality shows. I am in the minority but I dislike reality tv. Give me the great dramas, comedies and even chat shows are better. I would rather watch a diy program than Survivor US, Big Brother US..bleh!
Now for a random gratuitous pic of David Tennant, I always like the Tenth Doctor in the "brainy specs"

Doctor Who Spoiler Alert
@ 2008-12-19 – 06:10:54
Digital Spy spilled some of the beans and if you don't want to know, don't read any further. Me I am so bad about spoilers. I won't tell all but here is a tantalising tidbit from The Next Doctor as revealed from Digital Spy.
1. David Morrissey is the Doctor but NOT the Eleventh Doctor, huh?
2. former incarnations of the Doctor appear in the Next Doctor, at least one does. Yeah! which one or ones???3. The David Morrissey Doctor has a TARDIS.
say no more...can't wait just a few short days away....and then maybe they will announce the Eleventh Doctor.

Have you seen Catherine Tate?
@ 2008-12-19 – 05:23:27
That was the question my cubicle mate at work said to me yesterday. "Have you seen Catherine Tate?" Well, that is like asking me if I have ever seen Doctor Who - I have Billie Piper as Rose and David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor in a proper worshipful shrine picture next to my computer at work on the cubicle wall. A small picture of the Tardis and cats adorn the other cubicle wall. I went on to extol the virtues of Catherine Tate as Donna Noble and probably told my friend more than she ever wanted to hear. They seem to think I am normal at work and then there is this Doctor Who stuff and the British stuff.
I end up being a translator sometimes. What's a tyre? That's how the British spell tire. Ohhh. I am handy to have around sometimes.

By the way the rss scrolling on my computer just had the headline "pet lovers protest cats on the menu in China" I say protest China and boycott until they take kitties of the menu. That is a stupid indiginous cuisine, they need their heads examined. I could really go on about how I feel about this. Here China, here is a shoe in your face..look out..take cats off the menu.

Nutters
@ 2008-12-17 – 05:26:58
We had 4 inches of snow today and it made for treacherous driving to work. My job is about a 25 minute drive in normal conditions from home. I left 15 minutes early today and made it in time. The streets were really slick and my car slid with every turn. I drove my little old lady 25 mph, which is sensible and safe. I had nutters driving past me going around 60mph on ice and snow. They were flying around me and my little car in their big old pick up trucks and SUV's. You may be laughing at me now with your flying past me but I laugh at you at the gas/petrol station when you pay your 100,000,000 million dollars in gas. Well, that is a slight exaggeration but the point stands. Don't give me a hard time for driving slow, I might take my shoes off and throw them at you. So there.

New theory on The Next Doctor!!!
@ 2008-12-16 – 16:23:50
http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid4861980001/bctid4919241001
The latest Doctor Who trailer for the Next Doctor was shown and you can see it on Digital Spy. I think I have figured out who the DM Doctor is!! I BET HE IS THE DOCTOR'S LONG LOST BROTHER!!!
Way back in Smith and Jones, Episode 3.1 in Series 3, The Tenth Doctor mentions that he had a brother once.....oh, how clever. -
Snow, snow and more snow
@ 2008-12-16 – 05:35:27
Night all. It is a brisk 11 degrees farenheit tonight. Just a little nippy, snow storm tomorrow and Thursday with some sleet added into the mix. How can it sleet when it is 10 degrees? I am not looking forward to driving in this
that's my frowny face. After all my not so good things at work of late, I did a survey on a conference call with a big company and they were so pleased they were really happy with me. I was so nervous and my stomach was turning. I don't know why they picked me but they did and it went well. I hope I keep them happy.
Have a fantastic day, more snow..bleh!!
Oh and have I mentioned that I want David Morrissey as the Eleventh Doctor? I have, well I will mention it again

American Football, I don't get it.
@ 2008-12-15 – 02:06:39
Evening all,
I was cleaning up the kitchen after dinner and had the tv on. I was actually testing the new digital box and it works quite well. I kept changing the channel and there was American football on every channel, well almost, I finally found the old Drew Carey show. I am a traitor to my own country, I really, really don't like football. I grew up with American soccer, hockey and baseball (even rugby and cricket are played where I live) So it's not that I don't like sports at all, just one particular sport. My town's team was playing and losing. I didn't know the season was still on. Oh well, just can't seem to get the hang of it or like it.

Doctor in the House
@ 2008-12-12 – 05:51:41
My friend Foxwriter has inspired me to look back on childhood tv memories. My favourite show as a child was Doctor in the House. It has various incarnations and ran from roughly 1966 to 1973. I thought it was brilliant as a child. Here is a clip.

No two snowflakes are alike
@ 2008-12-11 – 05:25:22
Hi. Had a snow/ice storm yesterday. I was thinking about the saying that there are no two snow flakes that are alike. Impossible I say. There are no infinite combinations of patterns in the universe, can't be. So somewhere are two alike snowflakes. I don't think I will check though. In front of my flat people walk their dogs...
cheers

Sneaks
@ 2008-12-09 – 05:36:09
There was a lady at work who tried to get me to do her dirty work today. Tried the old, wouldn't you like to do it for me? Nope, I says. Then come to find out she asked someone else to do it as well. It was calling a large family for a survey. The other coworker said nope as well. Not that gullible.

Johnny Depp and the Return of Dark Shadows
@ 2008-12-08 – 03:10:14
Yes. I grew up with two obsessions, Doctor Who and Dark Shadows. Doctor Who being the most brilliant tv program ever written and to come out of the UK and Dark Shadows being the most brilliant tv program to come out of the US. For those in the UK not familiar with Dark Shadows it was a gothic soap opera that ran in the US for about 5 years, from 1966 to 1971. The reason it didn't run longer was that it was, like Doctor Who, a very expensive show with period costumes and special effects. It was a story about this family, the Collins family of Collinsport, Maine. The lead character was Barnabas Collins, who was a guilt-ridden vampire. Apparently I was not the only child who ran home from school and to throw down her school books and sit glued to the tv to find out what happened to Angelique the Witch, Barnabas the vampire and Quentin Collins the Werewolf. A young Johnny Depp did the same thing.
Next summer, 2009, Johnny Depp and Tim Burton are setting about to bring a childhood dream come true for Mr. Depp and for the millions of American children who sat glued to their tv sets watching Dark Shadows. Mr. Depp is going to remake Dark Shadows. I would assume he plans to play Barnabas Collins. Right now I feel like I did when they announced that Doctor Who would return the small screen in 2005. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!! The child in me is sooooo excited again.

The Secret to the Next Doctor, revealed?
@ 2008-12-07 – 01:39:43
Now this is a fantastic theory that I nicked from Cold Lazou on Doctor Who Online. Here goes, David Morrissey plays the Eleventh Doctor who would have been. Back in Journey's End the Tenth Doctor aborted the regeneration process and put the remaining energy back in to his hand in a jar, the handy receptacle. What if he was NOT supposed to do that. What if a timeline has been altered. Everything in the world that the Tenth Doctor lands at the beginning of the trailer to The Next Doctor is a bit off. The Morrissey Doctor's companion is Rosita and not Rose, he has a real screw driver and he has the fob watch like the Tenth Doctor. The Cyberwraiths look like blokes in costumes. David Morrissey's Doctor should have been the Eleventh Doctor but he isn't because the Tenth Doctor didn't regenerate. It is possible that the Tenth Doctor broke the laws regarding regeneration and now he has to live with that somehow and it can never happen again that the Doctor aborts the regeneration process. Great theory! We will see in a couple of weeks but it does make good sense, hence the title The Next Doctor.

Treasure Hunt?
@ 2008-12-06 – 22:27:17
My Dad passed away when I was a little girl so I wasn't involved in any of the decisions or knowledge of what happens business-wise when someone dies. One time my late mum told me that my Dad had left me a safety deposit box in a bank downtown. I asked if there was anything in it and she said no and that was that. Well, the bank sent me a notice to renew the 15.00 rent for the box. I called the bank and the nice lady said they have no way of knowing if there is anything in it. She told me it would be best if I got the key and came down and opened it. I don't have any keys?!! Well there was a small coin purse with keys in it my mum kept so I got that out and none of the keys in it had a number on it. Hmmm. The catch is I have to pay 90.00 to have them drill open the box. She said you could forget it and but if there IS something in it then it will go to probate court and I won't get it. She said it might be worth my while to be prepared to lose 90.00 just in case. I can't imagine my Dad all these years having my mum keep and empty box for me but maybe it is. I am psyching myself up to next pay cheque to go to the bank and have them drill it open..

Time Travel and my boring life.
@ 2008-12-06 – 02:50:26
I just caught a little bit of Stargate Atlantis and they were talking about someone trying to build a time bridge. As a now and forever fan of Doctor Who, I was interested and watched for a bit and then lost interest and turned the channel to a shop at home network selling Christmas ornaments. Time bridges, huh, well I have read there is a theory about time lifts. Yep you read right time lifts. There is someone who apparently has mapped out the equation for building a time lift. I am really fascinated by relative dimensions and time travel but tonight I am just watching QVC and looking at junk on telly.

That's not helpful, bro
@ 2008-12-05 – 05:31:57
As some of you may know I am trying to move to New York to live near my brother. This weekend my brother asked me how the job search was going and I said oh pretty good and some how I joked about gaining weight. My brother, bless, said he was worried about my getting a job if I was really overweight. Now, I am not that bad. I can walk through a door and chairs don't collapse beneath my thunderous weight. Mothers do not grab their children off the street when they see me and no sailor says land, ho, I think we spotted the great white. So Monday night my brother, bless, sends me an email with a picture of me saying "watch out", it was a really, awful picture of me opening the refrigerator door sans makeup, bed hair, pretty frightful yes.
That's just not helpful bro. My first inclination is to run to my bed and cry like a 6 year old at how I look but, meh, I am so over it. I am middle aged and appearance doesn't mean that much. I like to dress up in a pretty frock, curl the hair and wear make up from time to time but a raving beauty I will never be. I am fine with that. It's just that it's just not that helpful in getting me a job in New York.
cheers

Trying to survive the bad economy
@ 2008-12-04 – 05:31:10
I was talking to one of my friends at work and she is looking for a less expensive flat. She currently has new refurbished flat downtown. She said to save money and live more cheaply she is going for a less expensive flat in a more troubled area. I really hate for her to move to that area she is looking at. I was about to say there are a lot of robberies over there but yeah, I am the one who had a robbery behind her on Tuesday so never mind. Still If she moved out here where I live in the suburbs you can find a cheaper flat that isn't in a bad neighbourhood.
I think living cheaply is something we are all giong to have to try to do. I know that since I am trying to move near my brother in New York I am looking at nice flats but cheaper ones. Cheaper ones are hard to find. Usually the reason they are cheap is because they are in a bad neighbourhood.
I hope she finds a nice flat in a nice area. She is a single mum and is putting her daughter through University on our meager salary. Good for her.

They robbed the bank?!
@ 2008-12-03 – 05:23:10
Just found out this evening that whilst I was snoozing and then waking up around 9.24 am cst to take my shower, the bank behind where I live was robbed. Yikes! He was an armed robber and held up the bank and then fled on foot. They had the school on the other side of us on lock down as they didn't know where the robber fled. You just can't live anywhere. I mean, I live in a supposedly nice neighbourhood and the bank behind us gets robbed. I am actually not surprised. In efforts to cut back some banks here in the States have cut back on security. The days of the armed security guard are gone I am afraid. Lots of the little banks just take pictures of the robber and that's their security. Fortunately no one was hurt.

Scary Drivers
@ 2008-12-02 – 05:22:29
Driving on my way to work today. I make it safely to the parking lot at work, I am pulling into the lot and some
comes flying out and not stopping. He was looking the other way and I had the right of way, I was driving straight. Hello! Time to wake up we are driving big metal machines that are dangerous when not properly operated. There is no multitasking while driving! But all was well I just swerved out of the way, fortunately no other cars were coming. Some people!

I lost 40 pounds!
@ 2008-12-01 – 03:26:04
heh, heh, uh no. I was just teasing and trying to get inspired to join fat fighters. I really need to lose weight. I am fatter than ever and I am most comfortable in the woman's sizes and not missy sizes. Ugh! Maybe trying to lose weight shouldn't be my goal. Maybe, my goal should be to exercise daily and not focus on the weight. It is just that after a certain age, *clears throat* it becomes more difficult to lose weight. Is there any way to be fat but fit?
